Solar Still Prototyping

As a follow-up of our last year’s water desalination prototyping, this year we focus on improving the prototypes, conducting a feasibility study to find out how they could be arranged in a spatial plan, and thus infrastructuring the devices. Key infrastructural criteria that we will study are: (i) how the devices can be part of the primates’ existing traveling routes and territories; (ii) in what ways that they can function as autonomously as possible; (iii) the anticipation of the byproducts, especially salt; (iv) interfaces with human settlements. We have identified a product designer and an electronic programmer from GUDSKUL as collaborators for this infrastructuring activity, which will run from June to December 2024.
