Muara Gembong is speaking
2024-2025
As a part of Labtek Apung research dissemination, this installation seeks to articulate the stories Muara Gembong has told the team over the past few years. Stories that link Labtek Apung, partners, and local inhabitants (be they human or non-human) through long term collaborations in learning from each other. Stories of living and dying told through the cacophony of multiple chemical and ecological arrangements. Of pollutants and breakdowns, but also of ingenuities and tenderness for each other. Through these many voices of Muara Gembong, the installation invites to reflect: how might we live our life in the Anthropocene differently? And what roles do we have, in/advertently, in the making of Muara Gembong?
